A calendar of events contributed to by every department on campus, then accompanied by the “Al Bareed News” newsletter of activities, student interviews, recipes, pictures, suggested programs or software, links, competitions, etc. Target Audience Students, Faculty, and Support Staff Objective(s) Encourage interest in the Learning Centre activities and campus involvement. Math corner at FMC Target Audience Foundations – all levels Objective(s) We support the Alex Math program at FMC by giving students space to take exams or study. We have a math tutor, a corner with math activities and worksheets. We promote Number Shark and Living worksheets. Oxford 3000 word list Target Audience Foundations – all levels Objective(s) To help students build up their vocabulary so they will be more successful students. To build independent study skills. To use technology to help students study. Students receive support using AAWC Oxford quizzes, the Oxford Vocab books and the Oxford 3000 game (created by our SSCE staff member) to study. When students are ready, they come back to the SSCE to ask for a password that allows them to take a BB Learn quiz. These quizzes are added up all semester and students receive a mark worth 10% of their reading mark. Description of Best Practice
